10 Exciting Vacation Spots In One Piece

Being cooped up in the house has people scratching at their doors to be released, especially with summer approaching. With the desire to go back to the days of care-free travel, vacationers search for new spots to explore. Anyone can go to Europe or Asia, but imagine the opportunities if it was possible to travel to fictional places. Allow me to open your minds to the various exciting and enchanting islands the One Piece anime could offer for vacation. Beware though, as these spots aren’t for the faint of heart.

Sabaody Archipelago

This island isn’t simply one large landmass, but a collection of seventy-nine Yarukiman Mangrove trees. These massive, candy-cane resembling trees grow from the bottom of the ocean and produce unique bubbles. The naturally-produced bubbles can be used in a variety of ways from transportation to storage. Tie your balloon bubbles holding your souvenirs to your Bon Chari, bubble bike, and travel across the many groves.

Sabaody Park, located on Groves 32–34, is the island’s amusement park and must-visit attraction. Bubbles have been utilized to create rides such as the Ferris Wheel, Drop Tower, and Roller Coaster. If lucky, you could get the chance to see a performance at the Sabao Dome on Grove 33. Not too far from these attractions is Antonio’s Graman on Grove 35, a known-hotel for visitors. Although pirates and bounty hunters roam freely, have no fear as a Marine Headquarters is housed on the island for citizen’s safety.

Kuraigana Island

Dark tourists, rejoice as Kuraigana Island makes its way onto your vacation bucket lists! Partially submerged in water, the island is mostly littered with the ruins of a lost kingdom. The forested island has been uninhabited for almost a decade, creating an eerie aura. The name Kuraigana, in fact, loosely translates to “Gloomy, isn’t it?” Visitors can also appreciate the swirl-hilled landscape resembling those in The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Once the home of the Muggy Kingdom, the ruins it possesses tell tales of a fierce war. Caution should be taken while exploring as the dangerous humandrills lurk about. The humandrills are mandrill monkeys with the ability to mimic human action, and the ones on the island mimic dead warriors. The only standing castle on the island offers both shelter and another look into the past.

Momoiro Island

Shaped like a giant pink heart, the land of Momoiro Island is covered in rose-colored plants. The island is the base of the Kamabakka Kingdom or rather Queendom. Emporio Ivankov rules as the Queen of Queers, promoting sexual fluidity as he often transitions between genders. Inhabitants of the island are people from all over the world that have the “heart of a maiden.”

The island has two specialties – Attack Cuisine and Newkama Kenpo. Attack Cuisine may appear like average food, but in fact, there are ninety-nine special recipes to build up the consumer’s physical nature. With such food, it is no surprise that all citizens are powerful fighters using Newkama Kenpo. If you abide by the lifestyle and support the dismantling of gender roles, you might get the opportunity to learn a new fighting style on the lovely pink beaches of the island.

Boin Archipelago

These flower-shaped islands are not actually land at all, but plant-life that are large enough to carry their own ecosystems. The large flowers are one of the biggest dangers of the location as they are carnivorous, mostly eating overweight animals. Inside the main forest of Greenstone sits the Forest of Gluttony, an island favorite. Navigating the dense forest for a visit would be practical with a skilled guide and small tour group.

Boin Archipelago is known to be difficult to exit due to the overly-large beetles that live on the coasts. It’s a good thing then that the Forest of Gluttony is more inland as nothing is worse than bugs getting in your food. Ramen Falls, a river of prepared ramen, sits in the center of the forest surrounded by other delicacies such as ham fruits, chocolate rocks, and spaghetti patches. The best part of vacation is trying new foods, and here options are abundant for no cost.

Little Garden

This pre-historic island develops at an extremely slow rate making a journey here an actual walk into the past. The plant and animal life have remained untouched from human hands as no one has been able to survive at least a year. As Jurassic Park has shown us, people can’t get enough of dinosaurs no matter how dangerous. If you’re a dino-fan, this island would be a must-see.

Sabertooth and giant tigers can also be found on this dinosaur-ruled island. In the waters surrounding Little Garden is a humongous goldfish otherwise referred to as The Island Eater for its destructive ways. If nature photographers or scientists decided to step foot on the island for an extended period they should be aware that pre-historic insects also reside here. Bug spray is a necessary item to bring along as the island houses the Kestia, a tick that carries harmful bacteria, spreading the deadly “5-day disease.”

Island Of Rare Animals

Another island dominated by natural life has made its way onto the list of vacation spots. Similar to the islands before it, the Island of Rare Animals is uninhabited by civilization. The only living human on the land is a man named Gaimon, a resident of twenty-four years. Nature photographers and scientists alike might want to get in on the action of this island as well!

If you thought the island held rare animals such as tarsiers or red wolves, then you weren’t thinking outside the box. The animals on the island are rare because they do not exist anywhere else since they are combinations of two different animals. The cocox, for example, is a joining of a fox and rooster. Who wouldn’t want to study the wonders of this species? If your curious mind asks questions like “Does the cocox eat meat or seed?” this island might hold interesting discoveries you can’t resist.

Maiden Island

Maiden Island is the perfect spot for a girls’ vacation! It is situated in the Calm Belt, a sea that has no waves, and has perfect weather as there is never harsh winds or storms. Here lies the empire Amazon Lily, ruled and inhabited by women only. The jungle-island has a large mountain in the center, which covers the valley that the native Kuja tribe lives in.

The jungle surrounding the valley provides the empire with a variety of fruits and meats. Most notable is the laughing mushroom that elicits laughter from the consumer. Some buildings are part of the mountain walls with architecture resembling that of Ancient China. In Amazon Lily, beauty comes from strength, promoting female empowerment and friendship. This spot is great for groups of women to party both rowdily and gracefully without the lingering male gaze.

Fish-Man Island

This island is truly one-of-a-kind as it lays 10,000 meters under the sea at the bottom of a deep trench. It is held in a double-walled bubble that is half-filled with water and reef, and half air and land. While the deep sea is a dark abyss, the island gets its fair share of sunlight. The Sunlight Tree Eve absorbs sunlight from above and transfers it to its roots. The Ryugu Kingdom reigns over the island’s fishmen and merfolk citizens.

The pride of the island is the Fish-Man Dojo, where it is possible to learn fish-man karate. Don’t be disappointed with the results as you’re only human. Another hot-spot for tourists is the Mermaid Cafe, where young mermaids host visitors with foods like mozuku seaweed tarts and konbu kelp soufflé. The Marine Shopping Mall has an abundance of clothing options, but for the best souvenir one should stop in the famous brand store Crimin. If time permits, a stroll through different towns like Mermaid Cove or Waterwheel Town promises beautiful scenery.

Water 7

Another unique island is Water 7, as it resembles a giant fountain and is surely one of the most beautiful islands to vacation on. The colorful architecture of houses is tiered, as the island can sometimes flood during a bad storm. You can travel here by a Sea Train that will drop passengers off at Blue Station. From there, the city can be walked on foot or traveled through the abundant water-ways and canals.

While in Venice one can grab a gondola ride to travel, in Water 7 there are Bulls. Bulls are sea-horse like creatures that are attached to boats and are available for visitors to rent at low costs. The speed in which they travel and their ability to go up water ramps can turn a Bull-ride into a water roller coaster. After grabbing a drink at Blueno’s Bar, you should venture to one of the seven docks of the island. It is most famous for its shipwrights who are deeply respected for their carpentry and fighting abilities, especially those working at Dock 1.

Thriller Bark

The island of Thriller Bark used to reside in the West Blue but is now located on a ship in the Florian Triangle. It is covered by a thick fog that doesn’t allow the sun to peak through, creating a haunting vibe. The island belongs to the Thriller Bark Pirates and can be seen as a land of horrors, which for some is exactly the type of vacation they’ve been searching for!

Strange zombies in the shape of trees, animals, and humans can be found in the Dead Forest or Thriller Bark Graveyard. There is no risk of infection, however, as these zombies are individually made by Dr.Hogback. A bite will do nothing but sting. The Thriller Bark Mansion resembles a gothic-style cathedral and is connected to Mast Mansion, the ship’s mast. Joining the two mansions is a large bridge that holds Perona’s Wonder Garden, covered in trees, plants, flowers, and the island’s “cutest” zombies. This island is probably not suitable for children.

Pack Your Bags, Let’s Go!

The One Piece world has islands for every kind of traveler and group: dark tourists, wildlife tourists, family fun, survivalists, girls’ trips, etc. If these islands were real they would garner a lot of revenue, but alas they remain fiction. Adventure means traveling with loved ones and making new memories. So, after the pandemic why not book tickets to that vacation spot you’ve been putting aside?
