The combination of fast food and gaming is engaging and intriguing for a number of reasons. There are a variety of gameplay types to suit players’ preferences, from restaurant tycoons to dating simulators featuring Colonel Sanders from KFC. The following is a list of video games based on fast food that is more than just combining ingredients (although that can be fun too.) You will either gain a completely new perspective on fast food, or you will be entertained for several hours. (Both of which are excellent!)
“Good Pizza, Great Pizza” (2023; TapBlaze)
There are numerous cooking simulator games on the market today, yet this particular game stands out for its casual gameplay style and its emphasis on the art of pizza making. “Good Pizza, Great Pizza” (2023; TapBlaze) simplistic cartoon graphics and comedic storyline draw pizza lovers and gamers all in one.
Your job is to satisfy customers with your pizza-making skills and earn money to keep your store running. Sometimes, the customers can be troublesome or confusing, which definitely gives you a sense of what it is like in a true fast-food joint environment.
But, thanks to its diverse cast of characters and interesting narratives, even the repetitive task of making pizzas seem to not get dull.

“SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off” (2020; Nukebox Studios)
The Krusty Krab is one of the most iconic fast-food establishments from a cartoon, especially with the “secret” ingredients in their burgers. However, in this universe, Mr. Krabs is looking to expand and make more money outside of just one restaurant. “Spongebob: Krusty Cook-Off” allows you to assume the role of a familiar character, such as Spongebob.
As with many other tycoon games, you level up and expand as you fulfill customers’ orders quickly and efficiently. This Spongebob universe includes a wide range of old and new foods and ingredients, such as Krabby Patties and jellyfish jam. (Hopefully, the jellyfish labels are merely intended for aesthetic purposes rather than being used to harvest jellyfish.)
The variety of furniture with sub-nautical or tropical motifs also brings a sense of nostalgia for those who watched Spongebob in their childhoods.

“BurgerTime Party” (2019; Marvelous Inc.)
The party never ends when you have to make burgers and avoid edible enemies through endless obstacles and stages. Playing this game is comparable to solving progressively challenging puzzles but with a tasty twist.
“BurgerTime Party” is a modern recreation of the classic “BurgerTime” (1982) arcade game and lets you tackle challenges your own way. Whether you want to team up with fellow chefs, bring them down, or succeed on your own, how you make the enormous burgers are up to you.

“Overcooked 2” (2018; Ghost Town Games & Team17 Digital Ltd)
What could be more exhilarating than mastering the skills of exceptionally fast cooking? The answer might be when you are in the same kitchen as other players as time ticks down.
“Overcooked 2” brings the concepts of chaos and teamwork together by trusting your teammates to complete their tasks at a hurried pace. One of the most intriguing gameplay elements is that you can throw ingredients at your crew to save time. (Imagine if cooks did that in real life.)
Not to mention, you sometimes have to dodge and jump over obstacles like pedestrians and moving vehicles.

“McDonald’s Video Game” (2014; Molleindustria)
Nearly everywhere you look, you will see McDonald’s ‘M.’ Given their global phenomena, you might wonder what sort of plotting occurs beyond the public eye. “McDonald’s Video Game” looks simple and innocent at first — you oversee employees, the restaurant, and even the food production.
Firing employees seems like a mere task compared to having to feed and slaughter cows for beef. As you progress, you realize you have to be sinister in order to make lots of money which includes using hormones and antibiotics on livestock, corrupting people, and destroying forestry. Although the tasks are straightforward, managing everything from the work environment to agriculture can be challenging. You need to strategize and budget carefully to prevent McDonald’s from going bankrupt in which you lose the game.

“Sneak King” (2006; Blitz Arcade)
The Burger King mascot does more than just appear in commercials — he is also on a strange conquest of stealthily giving the brand’s food away to hungry citizens.
You play as the King who has to sneak around people’s vision “cones” or hide in various hiding spots throughout different environments. (( Tetris_king. “Trophy Unlocked: Sneak King.” Trophy Unlocked, 12 Nov. 2020. )) You also have to be cautious about how much noise you make and pay attention to citizens’ hunger levels.
Notably, the menu items such as the Whopper are presented in a visually appealing way, which is in stark contrast to the lackluster graphics and unsettling gameplay. Perhaps that was Burger King’s intention, to attract gamers to their “quality” food.

When Gaming & Food Are Combined — What Do You Get?
While gaming and food may seem like two unrelated concepts, they can actually be combined to create intriguing game genres. Whether the goal is to capitalize on the fast-food industry or feed people in need, these games are successful in captivating our attention.
In other cases, like KFC and Burger King, they are trying to appeal to the gaming community and garner as much positive publicity as possible for their brand. However, this can be viewed positively as it reflects the creativity and innovation that goes into creating a game because it is not simple as it looks.
