Shareca (sha-ree-ka/she-her-hers) is the CEO of The Daily Fandom, which essentially means she’s been keeping the ship afloat since 2016. With a passion for dissecting media through a modernist lens, she’s dedicated her academic journey to it, earning a BA in English, an MFA in Film Studies, and now working toward a Ph.D. Her taste in film speaks volumes, and you can catch a glimpse of it—if you can track her down on Letterboxd.
Managing Editor
Kelly Rota
A proud Italo-American fiction editor, Kelly aspires to write bizarre and labyrinthian short fiction that emulates her favorite authors: Borges, Calvino, and Murakami. She was Editor-in-Chief of San Francisco State’s Transfer Magazine, where she double majored in Creative Writing and Comparative World Literature. She continues to pay over-priced rent in San Francisco and donates her time to Ramblr Magazine as Fiction Editor.
Fandom Section Head
Abby Kirby
Abby is a lover of cartoons, cosplaying, writing fan fiction, and keeping Halloween decorations up year-round. Abby also holds a BA in English and an MA in Media and Cinema Communications with an interest in fan studies. In addition, Abby teaches classes about fan fiction and hopes to further combine fandom with education.
Popular Culture Section Head
Joanis Baino
Joanis holds a BA in English and is currently debating on whether or not she should go back to film school. While she is a lover of all things that are pop culture, she’s particularly a fanatic for Tony Stark, Kimberly Hart, and Dr. Pepper. You can probably catch Joanis buying enamel pins to add to her collection or crying over content in media.
Academia Section Head
Lydia Mae Orendain
Lydia graduated from San Francisco State University with a bachelor’s degree in Cinema. She has a passion for children’s media, good storytelling, and thrifted maxi skirts. When she’s not watching a new show, Lydia is either endlessly scrolling Instagram’s explore page or petting her dog Rolo (but most likely doing all at the same time).
